Restore Receding Gums with the Pinhole Surgical Technique
Restore your beautiful smile with a gum grafting procedure.
Restore Your Gum Line with PST or Gum Grafting
If you have lost gum tissue because of gum disease, tooth loss, tissue inflammation, or other problems, you may need to undergo a gum grafting procedure to enhance your smile. We perform several different types of gum grafting surgeries, including connective tissue grafts, free gingival grafts, and pedicle grafts. We may also recommend the Pinhole Surgical Technique (PST™) to patients that want a minimally-invasive option.
Cosmetic Benefits of a Gum Grafting Procedure
If you are feeling self-conscious or embarrassed by the look of your teeth because of gum recession, you may enjoy several cosmetic benefits from a gum grafting procedure. Gum disease and certain lifestyle habits can wear down the gum tissue and make the gums recede. The gum graft can restore the gum line so that there is less of the tooth structure showing when you smile. You may feel more self-confident about your appearance when your beautiful smile is restored after gum grafting surgery or the Pinhole Surgical Technique (PST™).
Types of Gum Grafts and PST™
Connective tissue grafts are the most common types of gum grafts and involve cutting a small flap of skin from the roof of the mouth to remove gum tissue under the flap. This helps create a healthier gum line around the tooth. Free gingival grafts involve transferring a small amount of tissue from the roof of the mouth to the gum line. It is ideal for patients with naturally thin gums. Pedicle grafts involve cutting away a small flap and pulling it over the tooth that needs to be repaired. The Pinhole Surgical Technique (PST™) is a minimally-invasive procedure that can restore the gum line without any incisions or sutures.
